I had a conversation with one of my favorite people yesterday. Let’s just say, we’re men of a certain age with a lot in common. That includes the things we celebrate about our lives as well as the misgivings we share about the way we’ve led them, at times. “No regrets Coyote,” Joni Mitchell said, “we just come from different places.” Some of us counted the minutes until the workday ended and still suffer the heart pounding dreams of being laid-off or fired. We’re convinced that no one got the best of us. They merely paid us well for the rest of us; without appreciating the passions we would have gladly brought to their endeavor if they had only been emotionally intelligent enough to make room for our opinions.
